All of us have been using MS Word since our childhood. But many of us use it like any other text editor, and thus missing out the awesomeness and the flexibility and the vast amount of different ways in which MS Word can be used. It offers a lot of options through which the user can customize his / her document. One of the features MS Word provides is the rulers at the top which is used to set tabs, define margins etc.
By default the margins and the ruler shows the measurements in inches. But, sometimes we may need to set the margins into centimeters and thus the need to display the measurements on the ruler in centimeters. This is a short tutorial on how to change the ruler unit from inches to centimeters in MS Word.
How to change Inches to Centimeters in Word 2013?
Step 1:
Click on “File” on the top left corner and then click on Options.
Step 2:
Click on Options
Step 3:
Now click on Advanced on the left hand side pane.
Step 4:
When on the Advanced tab scroll on the right hand side to the section where it says “Display”. Now in front of the field where it says, “Show measurements in Units of”, choose “Centimeters” from the drop down.
That’s it. Now you have changed the ruler units as well as all the measurement units from inches to centimeters in Word be it margins or for tabs etc.
I had to look into the options tab to find this option to change the measurement from inches to centimeters in Word. But, I hope this helps you all and saves your time.
