The day before yesterday Xiaomi launched the much awaited Redmi 2 in India in a launch event in New Delhi. The phone was looked upon as the successor of the previously launched Redmi 1S and with the kind of specs and the software upgrades it is surely a successor to the Redmi 1S.
The specs of the phone are just awesome at this price range and you would barely find any other OEM offering so many features in this price range.
Let’s have a look at the key specifications of the phone and then we will move onto the detailed analysis of the phone.

Price and Availability of Xiaomi Redmi 2:
Xiaomi Redmi 2 costs Rs. 6,999 in India and can be bought exclusively from Flipkart. Registration for Redmi 2 have already begun and the sales will start from 24th March 2015.
(Note: Any retailer claiming to provide original Xiaomi products is fooling you most probably. But them only at Flipkart or Airtel stores).
Processor, RAM and the Hardware
The Xiaomi Redmi packs a 1.2 GHz Quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with a 1 GB DDR 3 RAM which gives it great performance in daily use. The phone can run games like Asphalt 8 pretty smoothly. Thus the hardware of the phone gives a performance better than most of the phones at his price range.
Talking about the OS of Xiaomi Redmi 2, the phone runs the MiUI 6 which is built upon the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. Thus the phone looks pretty dfferent from the stick Android and the ample number of themes available from Xiaomi itself is a plus point.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 has an 8 MP back camera and a 2 MP front camera with 170 Degree wide angle lens (which is pretty good if you more into selfies).
The 8 MP back camera is much better than other phones within this range or I would even go on to say that it is much better than phones above its range such as the Moto G etc. Below are some of the images clicked from the back camera of Redmi 2 provided by Xiaomi.
The front camera although being a 2 MP one clicks decent photographs and is too good for clicking selfies since it is a 170 Degree wide angle focus camera.

All in all the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is a great device at a decent cost. Do sound off in the comments section to let us know your views on it.
